Dow hits record; Toyota passes Ford in US sales

[Music] the stock market will try to keep the record run alive on Wall Street investors will be sifting through reports on Factory orders Consumer Credit first quarter productivity and the trade gap on Friday both the Dow and S&P 500 closed at record high as the NASDAQ remains at a six-year high in the end the Dow Rose 40 points the NASDAQ composit added nine car buyers apparently look past record gas prices in May as General Motors and Chrysler both posted sales gains while Ford saw sales Fall by less than forecast but the car buyers did not turn away from fuel economy all together during the month Toyota posted its best sales month ever passing forward to grab the number two spot in Us sales it was helped by a near tripling of sales of the Prius its fuele efficient gas electric hybrid and Bal Total Fitness is putting itself on a financial diet the company plans to enter chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as it raises new cash Chicago based B says it expects to continue normal Club operations during this restructuring process the bankruptcy proceedings would close a troubled period for Bal during the last two months the company defaulted on its debt lost its acting CEO and was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange that's your money watch in New York I'm Alexis christopherus
