[Music] it's not all about the iPhone at Apple or maybe it is CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the company's new Mac operating system dubbed leopard the new system has 300 new features and begins shipping in October two months later than planned so Apple can devote more resources to the iPhone which hits store shelves June 29th on Wall Street with no major economic reports expected today investors will likely be searching for direction lingering concerns about inflation and higher interest rates kept stocks close to the Flatline Monday where the Dow and drial moved up a half point the NASDAQ Composite lost a point keep an eye on Ford today the automaker stock raced ahead Monday on news it's looking to unload some luxury Brands the aing automaker has hired Morgan Stanley and HSBC to help it explore the possible sale of its jaguar and Land Rover Brands Ford sold Aston Martin early earlier this year for about $900 million Harry Potter catwork is Magic on bookstore profits the seventh and final installment in the Harry Potter series hits stores July 21st but deep discounts mean many bookstores will struggle just to turn a profit Amazon and Walmart have slashed the $34.99 list price in half Barnes & Noble and borders are selling it at 40% off that's forcing many smaller independent book sellers to follow suit just to stay in the game and that's your money watch Love on to cbsnews.com for more in New York I'm Alexis christopherus

Foreclosures up 90%; 10-year Treasury yield hits 5-year high

[Music] more homeowners are having trouble making ends meet foreclosures Rose 90% in May from a year earlier according to realy track that says more people fell behind on their monthly payments California Florida and Ohio had the most defaults experts say the dramatic increase could foreshadow even higher forclosure levels later in the year investors will be eyeing the bond market today the yield on the 10 year treasury note jumped to a 5-year High Tuesday investors closely watch the 10-year treasury yield because it affects rates on things like mortgages and other Consumer loans on Wall Street we'll find out if higher food and gas prices are cutting into consumer spending when retailers release their sales figures for May on Wall Street in the last session stocks tumbled as investors remain preoccupied with the thought of higher interest rates the DOW Industrials tanked about 130 points the NASDAQ Composite gave back 22 and Google says it's doing more to protect your privacy in response to complaints from a European privacy Watchdog group The Internet search giant will now store user data for one and a half years instead of two that's your money watch log on to cbsnews.com for more in New York I'm Alexis christopherus
