Wall Street eyes retail sales, inflation after worst week in years

[Music] wary investors returned to work today after a volatile week on Wall Street that saw stocks fall to their lowest level in two months Wall Street will be looking for an end to the subprime mortgage Fallout that just keeps claiming victims in the financial sector investors will also be looking for signs that the Federal Reserve May reconsider lowering interest rates next month when we get the latest reports on retail and wholesale inflation but retailers will be in the spotlight as we see what effect Rising fuel prices and falling home prices are having on consumers Wall Street will be getting a report on retail sales for October as well as earnings news from several big retailers including Walmart Target Macy's and Kohl's Wall Street is coming off one of its worst weeks in years on Friday the Dow tumbled 223 points down 4% for the week the NASDAQ plummeted 68 bringing its loss to the week to 6 and A5 per. keep an eye on Intel this week the company is expected to unveil its latest computer chip dubbed penin it's supposed to reduce power use and boost performance experts say the new chip will allow Intel to make cheaper more powerful processors and that could mean cheaper computers next year that's your money watch track all your business headlines at cbsnews.com at the New York Stock Exchange I'm Alexis christopherus
