Yahoo will be in the spotlight on Wall Street today. Investors will be paying close attention to the tech giant's quarterly earnings report, checking to see how it stacks up against Google's and looking to see if it's worth more than Microsoft's takeover bid. Wall Street will also be looking at financial report cards from the likes of McDonald's, AT&T, JetBlue, and United Airlines parent company. On Wall Street Monday, soaring oil prices coupled with some disappointing earnings news made for a mixed start to the week. The Dow gave back 24 points, but the Nasdaq managed to gain five. Crude oil topped $117 a barrel for the first time ever Monday on renewed supply concerns. And the soaring price of crude keeps trickling down to the pump. AAA says gas prices hit a record 350 a gallon nationwide Monday. United is looking for more ways to offset the soaring cost of jet fuel. The airline is raising its change of ticket fee $50 to $150. The carrier will also make it harder to get its cheapest fairs if you don't stay over a Saturday night. The Saturday night stay requirement will likely hit business travelers the hardest because they tend to travel during the week. And that's your money watch.
