hey everyone and welcome to eye to eye the housing market is enduring its worst slump in more than two decades and that is bad news for homeowners trying to sell ben tracy spoke to a realtor about what you can do to increase your chances of selling your house what is it like right now to be a real estate agent well it's tough i mean the prices are changing quite rapidly and the sellers think that their house is still worth what it was last year and it's not it's not it's not so convincing them is really a project because they know what their neighbor's house sold for and what is the issue right now i mean if someone is not if someone doesn't price it right the first time now what happens well it's almost it's almost the death of the house on some levels because as you do reductions you're kind of chasing the market and the market is still changing so you're better off pricing it right getting behind the market now and putting a realistic price on it and that's what you should get but people who put these uh big price tags on and then they do these reductions and these reductions and these reductions it's almost becomes a joke what do you think of some of these gimmicks i mean the things like offering you know a free car if you buy this house or sending the agent on a cruise or saying we'll pay the closing costs i mean i think that's i think that's you know all you know a fun thought but real realistically and bottom line is price put a good price on the house put a real price on the house get behind the market a little motivated sellers sell property people out there you know who are buying it's a buyer's market now and they they want a good deal
