President elect Obama is in Hawaii tonight that's where he grew up of course and where he will celebrate Christmas and New Year's with his family the Obama transition team issued some new numbers in his plan to fix the economy and Ben Tracy is in lovely Hawaii tonight with the president-elect Ben what are you hearing well Russ it's a much more ambitious plan than his existing one you know last month Obama promised to create 2 and a half million new jobs well now with the economy getting considerably worse he's promising 3 million new jobs and to help with that he is considering a stimulus package of up to $775 billion over two years and of course there's also some news coming out from Chicago tonight regarding possible contacts between the Obama team and the team of embattled Governor Rod bovich what are you hearing about that that's right Russ Democratic sources are telling us to expect the internal Obama transition report on those contacts to be out as soon as tomorrow or maybe even Tuesday now that report will detail contacts between the transition team and the governor's office about that open senate seat which the governor allegedly tried to auction off now there's been a lot of questions surrounding Rah Emanuel Obama's incoming Chief of Staff but the transition team is telling some news outlets that they expect this report to clear Emanuel of any wrongdoing Ben let's look ahead to inauguration day a little less than a month from now of course president- elect Obama picked Pastor Rick Warren to give the invocation some gay rights groups are opposed to that I understand that Pastor Warren spoke last night what did he say he did he spoke in California basically defending Obama's decision to invite him he said we don't have to see eye to eye to walk hand in hand so for now it seems like his invite to the inauguration is still on Russ Ben Tracy on rough duty on the beach in Hawaii thank you so much
