yes it will be a good thing in that he's now the president of the United States and it's up to our government when they see an industry struggling an industry that's going to affect the middle class working class to step in and try to do something to solve the problem not just be saying because I'm a auto worker any industry if it's the farming industry is if it's the airlines when it's going to affect the economy and have an adverse effect on the public is up to the government which serves the people to do something for the people my thoughts about uh yesterday for Obama being the 44 president uh I think it was a a big change for a lot of people you know I think that he's really going to uh make a lot of differences in uh in our country and U you know we we went through a lot throughout the8 years and you know with it being so so much of a struggle here in Michigan with no jobs at home you know I think this really going to be worthwhile you know it's history in the making based upon what I've seen and heard um in inauguration uh believe that change is going to come eventually but it's going to take a little while but I think everything that was said um it was taken to heart and everybody beli exactly what was said so if everybody had a patience to you know for the trans um information to come through I think you know everybody going to start working together and um I don't know I think peace is going to come I think a lot of the crime and stuff is going to drop eventually but like I said it's going to take a while but um I don't know everybody's looking for change cuz the way the economy is with the Auto industry and everything I believe that uh I really hope that change come with the Auto industry cuz I work for the big three but other than that um I really hope everything goes well but all that's all we can do right now is just hope uh I think it's very good the biggest thing that I see what he's trying to do for the country and it's it's good is give everybody a positive real positive attitude and I just hope that he can get the people that got the money that has industry in this country and got control of it so that they put money back in this country instead of shipping it out everywhere else

we must act quickly to provide substantial support for economic recovery and to get credit flowing again the history of financial crisis is a history of failures by governments to act with the speed and force commensurate with the severity of the crisis if our policy response is tentative and incrementalist if we do not demonstrate by our actions a clear and consistent commitment to do what is necessary to solve the problem then we risk greater damage to living standards to the economy's productive potential and to the fabric of our financial system Senators the ultimate cost of this crisis will be greater if we do not act with sufficient strength now in a crisis of this magnitude the most prudent course is the most forceful course Senators before I finish I want to address directly the concerns many of you have raised about the mistakes I made in preparing my tax returns these were careless mistakes they were avoidable mistakes but they were unintentional I should have been more careful I take full responsibility for them I have gone back and corrected these errors and paid what I owed I want to apologize to the committee for putting you in the position of having to spend so much time on these issu issues when there is so much pressing business before the country if you and your colleagues give me the opportunity to serve as Secretary of the Treasury then I will do everything I can to justify your trust and your confidence
